Why the world as it is?

Th world we live in today is just awful, I think. Why is everyone hungry etc, then why can not we live in a world where all families can afford to put food on your plate and make your own? Search Dubai, 7 or 6 star that costs thousands of stay and things are made of gold inside, etc. There are people dying, starving, sick and homeless and people invest their money in gold, useless objects? In a world we live in developed countries One might think that all this was a thing of the past. Why can not we just print money? No other planet of intelligent life who says you can not.
