I am not a senior yet, but when the two dogs that are no longer with me decided that I will adopt an adult dog. I think it's a great solution for seniors who still want a dog, but is limited in what they can do in terms of exercise and training. My suggestion is to promote as much as possible. If I knew of an organization close to my house, definitely go for the first time when I'm ready. What about schools? The children have grandparents. Ask the rescue groups that advertising on their sites. Rescue dogs get older and are often not adopted. Try Petfinder.com. I'm sure it would have advertising on your site. Try the local radio and television. This would be a good story well. Good luck. Older dogs should live out their days in a loving home.
