working homeless
Why do people assume that being homeless is the end of the world?

Throughout the last few years, I’ve been in and out of such situations and guess what? I’m in school, working and no longer homeless. It’s not the end of the world and in some cases, it’s not a choice. Why do people assume that having having a bad turn of luck means that a person is lazy and not trying hard enough? Had it ever occurred to them that, because of a severely imbalanced economy, that a lot of people are living below the national poverty level and it’s not because of lack of their trying.

Been there too. I believe that most people have no idea of what they would do themselves. So they put up a facade and pretend that it can’t happen to them and that it is the fault of the individual. They refuse to consider economic reality.
